Gopinath Muthukad’s Bharat Yatra Concludes with a Grand Welcome at Thiruvananthapuram Airport
Thiruvananthapuram: Gopinath Muthukad and his team received a heartfelt welcome at Thiruvananthapuram Airport after successfully completing the 59-day Bharat Yatra promoting social inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Kadakampally Surendran MLA, alongside children from the Different Art Centre, their parents, and supporters, greeted the team with enthusiasm.
Journey Highlights and Closing Ceremony
The Bharat Yatra culminated in New Delhi on December 3 with a vibrant closing ceremony. Differently-abled performers from the Different Art Centre showcased their talents in cultural programs, captivating the audience. Team members, including children with disabilities who traveled with Muthukad, were warmly welcomed back with red flowers as a token of appreciation. Dr. Anil Nair, Intervention Director of the Different Art Centre, along with Manager Sunilraj C.K., Administrative Officer Biju James, and Finance Controller Hari S., joined the reception event.
Programs Across Key Institutions
The Yatra included events hosted at institutions under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), army centers, IITs, universities, and health departments across various states. Each program aimed to inspire and spread the message of inclusivity, making a meaningful impact nationwide. By completing this extensive journey, Gopinath Muthukad and his team have set a significant milestone in promoting awareness about disability inclusion and inspiring change across India. The Bharat Yatra, which began on October 6 from Kanyakumari, spanned the length and breadth of India, covering over 50 venues in southern, northern, eastern, and western states. Traveling entirely by road, the team delivered impactful awareness programs on the importance of social inclusion.
